Yohance Marshall

Executive Director

Yohance Marshall is a decorated former Trinidad and Tobago international defender and a visionary leader in youth development, now serving as the Head of Football Operations at the International School of Port of Spain. His distinguished professional career, spanning over a decade across MLS, USL, Mexico, Iceland, and Asia, was marked by winning both individual honors and team championships. This success was built upon a stellar collegiate tenure at the University of South Florida, where he was a 4-year captain, a First Team All-American, and a key figure in the team’s successes.

On the international stage, Yohance represented Trinidad and Tobago at both youth and senior levels, famously scoring a historic goal against Mexico in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Today, he channels his championship-winning experience and leadership into a multifaceted mission to empower the next generation. In addition to his role at the International School, he serves as a National Youth Coach with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association. As CEO and Co-Founder of the Can Bou Play Foundation, Yohance leads initiatives that use football as a powerful tool for social transformation, with a focused commitment to mental health, inclusion, and community leadership. His work is dedicated to building holistic character and opportunity both on and off the pitch.


Julius James

Executive Director

James is a retired professional footballer, former Trinidad & Tobago international, and accomplished youth coach who has dedicated his life to developing players and using sport as a catalyst for positive social change.

A standout defender at the University of Connecticut, Julius became one of the program’s most decorated athletes, serving as a four-year captain, earning three First Team All-American honors, and being named Big East Defender of the Year three times. He entered the professional ranks as a 2008 MLS first-round draft pick and went on to enjoy a long and distinguished 10+ year career across MLS, NASL, USL, NPSL, and the TT Pro League. He also represented Trinidad & Tobago at both Youth and Senior levels, competing in a U-17 World Cup, Senior international friendlies, Caribbean tournaments, and World Cup qualifiers.

Since Inter Miami CF’s inception, Julius has played an integral role in shaping the Academy’s culture and player development pathway. He has coached multiple age groups, including leading the club’s Special Olympics Unified Team, and currently serves as one of the Academy’s Head Coaches, guiding elite young players through the technical, tactical, and character demands of the game.

As Co-Founder and Senior Director of Social Development at the Can Bou Play Foundation, Julius draws on more than two decades of professional experience and community leadership to design and deliver impactful programs across Trinidad & Tobago and the wider diaspora. His work focuses on mentorship, mental wellness, and community upliftment, bridging high-performance sport with meaningful social impact.

Beyond his professional roles, Julius is married to his wife Denice and is a proud father of five children. His family inspires his commitment to mentorship, compassion, and creating positive pathways for youth and communities worldwide.

 


Charisse Bacchus

Executive Director

Charisse Bacchus, has been involved in Sport and Community work for most of her life. She has represented her country both nationally and professionally in regional and international competition in Track and Field for over 18 years.

As an athlete she earned many awards in Regional and International competitions as a jumper, pent-athlete and sprinter for the University of Kansas and Trinidad and Tobago. This has played a big role in her personal and career development.

Charisse graduated from the FIFA Master of Sport Management, Law and Humanities; an international

program conducted in:

● De Montfort University, Leicester, UK

● SDA Bocconi, School of Management, Milan, Italy

● University of Neuchatel, Switzerland

Coined as the leading programme in Sport Law/Management in the world, Charisse’s experience there motivated her to pursue sport for development as a means of improving the social circumstances of at-risk-youth as a program coordinator at CIES/FIFA.

She spent over 3 years at The Canadian Soccer Association as an Independent Director here she created and instilled a culture of diversity and inclusion while leading in pursuit of excellence in soccer.

Experiencing sport from both sides of the spectrum (as an athlete and as a sport administrator), it’s only natural that she has made the transition to sport for development and education. Where she runs her own Sport Management and Consultancy Firm and lectures at Humber College. Charisse is a Sport Consultant with a focus on project management, program design and implementation. She believes in educating and empowering equity deserving groups to reach their personal and community goals.

Nzingha Salandy

Director

Over three decades of experience in organizing and managing programmes for Government, CBO’s and NGO’s at administrative levels. Twenty-five years as the executive administrative assistant to the former chairman of the Emancipation Support Committee [ESCTT], assisting in organizing and coordinating the different activities taking place during Emancipation. Team leader / coordinator of ESCTT Business Development Unit organizing the annual Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Symposium [TATIS] in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade Industry and Investment and international partners. TATIS is in its Twenty-fifth year. Team leader of the ESCTT education programme coordinating Emancipation programmes for Government. Private enterprise, Schools and Community Organization.
